"The opportunity the [HTM] program brings offers a direct hands on approach for students to learn, connect, and explore career paths with a global leader in the hospitality business. Marriott is excited to have this opportunity with Milford High Schools Best in Class students!"

Joey Tutela, GM Courtyard by Marriott

"In the past 2 years of being in the Hospitality and Tourism Management Program I have learned a lot about things that I would have never thought to experience on my own…and I am glad that I had an experience that other people don’t get."

- Megan Medina, graduate of the HTM Program

"My favorite part of being in this class is being able to go see amazing places on field trips such as Mohegan Sun and Logan Airport and more. Being part of the hospitality class gives you opportunities to get to experience and see the behind the scenes that not many people get to see. Also this class is a guided step towards a future in the hospitality industry which can lead to many exciting careers in many different fields in hospitality, tourism and management such as a hotel, cruise line, airport, restaurant, or owning a business."

-Nick Roccanti, graduate of the HTM Program

"I have been a member of the Hospitality & Tourism Management Program for two years and those years helped guide me to choose the career that I would like to major in."

-Michael Echavarria, graduate of the HTM Program

"The HTM Program was what made high school so special and gave me the memories I will forever remember with lifelong friends. Not only did this program give me a foot in the door when I graduate and enter college but it also gave me the experience of networking, executing countless events within the community, and figuring out who I am along with eight of the best classmates I could have ever asked for."

- Nickole Hehir, graduate of the HTM Program

"Looking back in all the four years I spent in high school, the thing I’m most thankful for is the experience I had in HTM, and becoming a family with everyone else in there. The program also opened up doors for me that I wouldn’t have ever imagined would have been opened for me."

-Thales Guimaraes, graduate of the HTM Program

"The Hospitality and Tourism Management Program at Milford High School is an example of how education and industry can work cooperatively within a community. This innovative program...affords students the opportunity to gain real world job experience and apply academic learning in meaningful ways that truly motivates both the student and employer."

- Dr. Robert Tremblay, Former Superintendent of Milford Public Schools

"The class has not only helped me understand the hospitality field more but it has also prepared me for anything I want to do in the future. Everything from how to create a resume to breaking down our dreams into smaller reachable goals, we’ve covered in class or with a guest speaker."

-Yaneris Sanchez, graduate of the HTM Program

"My favorite part of the program is the knowledge and experience that I have acquired through these two years, that not only has helped me grow my business but it has helped me put my name out in the Hospitality field and has helped me pave a path for my future."

- Marcelo Firmino, graduate of the HTM Program

"This program not only taught me countless things about the hospitality industry but it also taught me more about myself and helped me grow as a person and as an event planner…I have never felt more prepared to take on the next chapter of my life."

- Cecelia Costa, graduate of the HTM Program

I have obtained two jobs through the program and been accepted to the University of New Hampshire’s College of Business and Economics. I learned an unlimited amount of “real world skills” that students seriously don’t learn in regular core classes. This program has put me, and my classmates, so far ahead of everyone else our age and given us the best step stool to college, or the workforce, or whatever else we could to pursue in the future.

- Kate Rosenblatt, graduate of the HTM Program

"These events, both the large and small ones, have shaped me into being able to work better with others. Another thing I am taking away is the certificates (five of them) that we have earned throughout the course that will help set me apart from others while applying to jobs."

- Daniel Medina, graduate of the HTM Program

"This program allows students the unique opportunity to combine classroom learning with a real life industry setting. Students are involved in the day-to-day hotel operation which provides first hand industry experience in conjunction with classroom exercises."

- Jeff Lang, GM Doubletree by Hilton.

"The past two years have been an amazing life changing roller coaster ride. I wouldn't have changed a single thing about it. I'm happy that we were able to make a lifetime worth of memories in two years. Without the HTM Program I can definitely say I would not have the slightest clue on what I want to do career wise. It has opened up many doors of insight into things I would not have even known about without being part of all this. I can say I am more informed about my future than some of my classmates because of HTM. We have learned valuable work ethics for our future."

-Jessica Coelho, graduate of the HTM Program

"Being in this program has made me learn that the hospitality industry is a lot more than being nice to people and hotels. In reality it goes far beyond this, it includes accommodations, attractions, transportation, and food and beverage. This program has allowed me to see and actually experience a little bit of everything within this industry. We have gone on many different field trips and have had many guest speakers and visitors come into the classroom. All of these opportunities have been given to me through our partners and for that I am thankful. It is amazing how all of these professionals trust us as students and let us take a walk in their shoes."

-Alliah Hilton, graduate of the HTM Program

"Throughout the two years in this program, I learned more than I ever thought possible.  I learned real life skills, the operations of a hotel, restaurant, cruise ship, and so much more.  We are now extremely experienced in events as well.  With all the certifications I hold, I feel more than ready to put myself into the real world."

- Morgan Smith, graduate of the HTM Program

"The Hospitality and Tourism Management Program has been a really enlightening experience for me. It helped me get my foot in the door and make connections I might not have otherwise made."
